Ballymahon AFC is the soccer club at Tara Park in Ballymahon, County Longford. Its football includes youth competition and senior men’s matches, and its girls reached a national cup semi final in 2022.

Developing the club’s ground
A 2011 council planning record documents Ballymahon AFC’s application for a clubhouse, changing space, toilets, storage, parking and boundary works at Tara Park. It also sought retention of an existing astro pitch with lighting and fencing.
This records the club’s efforts to improve its home, but does not prove that every proposed building was completed. The founding members and early playing history remain unconfirmed.
The girls’ national cup run
Ballymahon hosted Claremorris in the last four. The Connaught Telegraph’s account confirms that Claremorris won the tie and advanced to face Salthill Devon in the final.
The club also won the 2025 John Banana Nolan Cup final, with the match photographer recording a 2–1 victory over Mullingar Celtic. A complete list of league and cup honours has not been verified.
Youth and senior football
Ballymahon appears in the Longford Sports Partnership’s soccer directory. Its youth competition record includes the Longford and District schoolboy and schoolgirl league. The club’s September 2026 home match notice places the senior men in the Combined Counties Football League’s Senior Division.
Ask about current boys’ and girls’ age groups and available places. The 2022 cup run does not establish the present girls’ squad structure, and a current adult women’s group has not been confirmed.

The DSsports training jersey combines black with red markings. Its crest is a red and white shield with a blue central figure and a football above it. The clubwear range also includes a sky blue training option, so ask the coach which kit is needed.
