Academy roots and youth competition

2026 honours
Challenge Cup and Shield winners
Castlelack won the 2026 under-16 Schoolboys Challenge Cup, beating Drinagh Rangers 5–1 at Lyre. Earlier in the year, the under-11 Dragons won the Schoolboys Shield against Drinagh Diamonds at Carbery Factory Park. Both successes came in the West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League.

Two grass pitches at Brinny
The ground development account describes two full-size grass pitches and a training area on six acres beside MSD Brinny. Castlelack began playing there in July 2021, with an official opening in 2022. Confirm changing, toilet and access arrangements with your team before visiting.

Club story
A long-term home built with local support
The partnership with MSD Brinny began in 2017 with a long-term lease. Work started in May 2020, supported by a Sports Capital Programme grant and volunteer effort. The Echo’s opening report records how the academy grew after the move, giving more local children a place to play.
