A new home for Cloughjordan football
Cloughjordan FC has provided football in north Tipperary since 1983. Its programme extends from academy children to adult teams, with boys’ and girls’ football part of the club’s growth. The move to new grounds in Townfields gives that work a permanent local focus. The club published its new ground directions in August 2025.

Academy, boys and girls
The club introduction covers football from academy age through to senior level. September 2025 reports include girls at under 12, under 14 and under 17, alongside boys’ under 14 football. These reports show the range of activity; ask for the current team for your child’s year of birth and its training arrangements.

2026/27 registration
The published membership products list €50 for under 5 to under 11, €75 for under 12 to under 18, and €100 for an adult player. Family packages list one adult with two children at €200, or one adult with three children at €225. Confirm the appropriate age category with the club: the younger product’s displayed birth year range contains an inconsistency.

Two men’s teams and local league football
An October 2025 fixture notice scheduled both men’s teams at the new ground on the same Sunday, against Clodiagh Rangers and Birdhill. The North Tipperary league directory lists black and white as Cloughjordan’s home colours, with yellow as the alternative. Check the latest club notices for current teams and match times.

Building the next stage
The new grass ground was in use for club matches in 2025. A November 2025 appeal sought support for an all weather pitch through a Christmas fundraising draw. That appeal describes development work; ask the club which training surfaces are available now and which entrance your team uses.
Club story
From a growing youth programme to Townfields
The club’s 1983 foundation predates the recent ground project by four decades. A 2022 account of the development plans described a club expanding its youth programme, with four girls’ teams, regular sessions for children aged four to six and 93 children attending an Easter camp. The same report described the planned Townfields ground as the next step in meeting that demand.
During that earlier period, the Ecovillage provided access to a green area for underage football. The 2022 report records the help that made those sessions possible. It is part of the move towards a permanent base, rather than a current instruction to visitors to travel to the Ecovillage.
The club’s August 2025 new ground notice supplied the Townfields map link. Subsequent youth reports and men’s fixtures place football at the new home. For families joining now, the useful first step is a direct enquiry about the correct team, followed by the club’s current membership process. Its published history and honours pages do not yet provide a detailed trophy record.
