Finglas United FC football
Finglas United FC gives local players a route through youth football, with Kildonan Road at the heart of club football.
Club identity
One Finglas club, two deep histories
Finglas United was formed in 2015 when WFTA Football Club and Mellowes B.D.S. amalgamated. Both clubs traced their origins to road leagues in the 1950s and 1960s, giving the new organisation a combined local history of more than a century.
The merger was launched with FAI, AUL, DDSL and Dublin City support to create a stronger, shared football base in Finglas West.
Youth pathway
Academy, DDSL and Football for All
The club’s academy welcomes boys and girls from the early years, with sessions designed around fun, fundamental skills and a safe environment. The wider pathway has included DDSL teams from U8 through U18, a weekly Football for All section and senior routes.
Current age groups, team names, divisions and seasonal relationships are shown by the native Teams module, keeping each squad connected to its own competition.
Colours and crest
Royal blue and yellow
The DDSL profile lists royal blue as the primary colour and yellow as the alternate. The enhanced crest keeps the 2015 date, Celtic-cross motif and Finglas United lettering while giving the page identity a clearer, dimensional finish.
The canonical club record carries that identity into connected fixtures, results and league tables.
Community venues
Football across Finglas West
Finglas United’s academy history places early sessions at LeisurePoint Astro Pitch, while connected match records are associated with the wider Finglas and Ballymun sports network, including Ballymun Soccer Complex.
Fixture cards remain the authority for the exact pitch, date and kick-off attached to each team because venue arrangements can differ by age group.
Competition record
A broad pathway beyond one league
Finglas United’s public club record has described DDSL teams from U8 to U18, four Leinster Senior League teams, a ladies team in the Eastern Women’s Soccer League and a Football for All section. The club has also earned FAI Club Mark recognition.
For 2026–2027 youth football, use the native Fixtures, Results and Standings tabs to follow the latest connected DDSL squads.

Development before results
The club’s own philosophy places fun, friendship and personal development ahead of winning at all costs. Soft tiering helps players learn at a suitable pace, supported by qualified, Garda-vetted coaches, volunteers and families.
Public club channels should be used for academy registration, new-player enquiries, Football for All, safeguarding, team contacts and venue updates.
First visit and joining
Confirm the current football details
Finglas United FC welcomes enquiries through its club contact route. Include the player’s year of birth, ask for the right age group and confirm the current training time, registration steps and child-welfare contact before attending.
For a match at Kildonan Road, check the named pitch, arrival point, parking and changing arrangements with the home contact. Keep boots, shin guards and a spare layer ready, and allow time to meet the coach before the session starts.
Keep the club contact and confirmed venue details together before the first session. A named age group, arrival point and coach contact give families a clear starting point for Finglas United FC football.
Home ground
Kildonan Road
Finglas United FC lists Kildonan Road as its current football location. Confirm the named pitch and arrival detail with the team before travelling.
Matchday and pathway
A local football base
In the local area, County Dublin, Finglas United FC connects local players with youth football. Age-group details on the club’s team and fixture records can change across a season, so a direct message is the safest way to confirm the right group, training time and registration route.
The named football setting is Kildonan Road. Families visiting for the first time should confirm the entrance, parking, changing arrangements and kit requirements with the team contact. A match listing can show the pitch for one date, while training may use another local field.
For coaches and visiting teams, include the age group, opponent, date and competition in any enquiry. Ask for the confirmed pitch and arrival time, then keep the club’s response with the fixture details. That simple check supports a smooth handover on match day and helps players arrive prepared.
Players moving into a new age group can ask about session pace, squad numbers and equipment. The club contact can also point families to the right safeguarding information and named welfare officer.
