More than just a club
Kill Celtic FC is a red and black community club at Straffan Park, serving academy, girls, boys, youth, U21 and senior football.
Community football since 1999
Kill Celtic FC was founded in 1999 with a passion for football and a commitment to the local community. The club serves Kill, Johnstown and nearby Kildare families, and its own wording describes the club as more than just a club.
The early senior side helped establish the black and red identity, while local parents built out the underage section. The result today is a club that connects academy football, competitive youth teams and senior football from one village base.

Straffan Park on Straffan Road
The home base is Straffan Park, Straffan Road, Kill, County Kildare. It is the practical starting point for new families, match visitors and volunteers because the club lists it as the location for current club activity.
Visitors should check the live team message for pitch allocation, arrival time and parking advice, especially on busy academy or match days. The embedded map below is included for travel planning; current match detail stays in the live IYF modules.
Academy to U21 pathway
The club presents a full football journey from players aged five through to U21. Academy to U11 teams are described as non competitive for both boys and girls, with development, fun and confidence placed ahead of results.
From U12 to U21, the club lists seven competitive teams, giving older players a chance to test themselves in league football while still staying within the Kill Celtic environment. This makes the club useful for a family with more than one player age, or for a player moving from first training sessions into competitive football.
Boys, girls and senior routes
Kill Celtic promotes boys and girls football at every age level, with academy sessions for the youngest players and a growing girls section alongside boys teams. The emphasis is on technical skill, tactical understanding, fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The senior route keeps adult football visible in the club story. Current team availability should always be checked through the live club channels and the IYF Teams module, but the pathway itself is clear: younger players can start early and remain connected as they move through the age groups.
Recent team achievements
The current club team page highlights strong recent performances. It names U12 and U13 teams as Premier League winners, U12 and U15 teams as Major League title winners, and a senior team league and cup double.
Those honours are presented here as selected milestones because competition titles and seasons can change across age groups. The important reader point is the depth behind them: Kill Celtic is not only running participation football, it is also giving competitive players a route to chase league success.
Safeguarding and coach readiness
The club publishes a broad policy set covering coaches, players, parents and spectators, discipline, health and safety, child safeguarding, streaming and recruitment. That gives families a clear sense that behaviour, welfare and match day standards are part of the club structure.
New volunteer coaches are guided through Garda Vetting and FAI Safeguarding 1. The club is clear that coaching activity should wait until both are fully approved, which protects players and helps new coaches understand their responsibilities before they take a session.
Colours, crest and identity
The Kill Celtic identity is simple and strong: red, black and white, with a circular crest and a red four leaf centre. The design gives the page its visual direction and matches the black and red language used in the senior club story.
The same colours run through match wear and supporter clothing. Families and players can use the club clothing and merchandise route for items such as hoodies, jackets, hats and jerseys when they want to represent Kill Celtic away from the pitch.
Joining and first enquiry
A first enquiry should include the player’s year of birth, current experience and the route needed: academy, girls, boys, competitive youth, U21 or senior. Parents should also ask about training night, registration, kit, coach contact and any waiting list before attending.
For match visitors, the key checks are venue, pitch, kickoff time, parking and any weather change. The live IYF sections below carry current team and match information; this profile gives the club background that helps families understand where those teams fit.
