Malahide United FC
Red-and-black football at Gannon Park, with youth, academy and senior pathways in north County Dublin.
Club identity
A Malahide club with roots in 1944
Malahide United AFC was established in 1944 after local organisers formed a club for the community. Its first pitch was at Ard Na Mara, and the club later moved through several Malahide locations before settling at Gannon Park.
The crest combines a white tower motif with a circular red-and-black MU emblem. It gives the club page a strong visual link to Malahide and the colours used by the football teams.
Youth pathway
Academy, schoolboy and schoolgirl football
The official club account describes football across academy, schoolboy, schoolgirl and senior levels. Its published age-group structure includes small-sided teams, 11-a-side youth groups and academy provision, while the 2026–2027 native Teams module keeps current squads and divisions distinct.
That separation is useful for families: choose the exact age group and season before reading its fixtures, results or standings, rather than treating the club’s many teams as one record.
History and honours
Growth through a changing local club
Malahide United paused in the 1960s before being reformed for the 1970–1971 season. The reformed club adopted red and black colours and developed a schoolboy section as Malahide’s population grew.
The senior side won its first Leinster Senior League title in 1996–1997. The club’s later history includes FAI Cup appearances and the Charlie Cahill Cup win in 2019, while its youth record continues through the connected Dublin competitions.
Gannon Park
A developed football home
Gannon Park has been Malahide United’s home since 2002. The club’s published account describes a substantial facility designed to support its large youth and senior programme, with multiple pitches and clubhouse infrastructure.
The club address is Gannon Park, Malahide, Fingal, north County Dublin. Match-day visitors should still check the individual fixture card for the named pitch, kick-off and any temporary venue change.
Colours and competition
Red and black stripes
Malahide United’s home identity is red-and-black striped shirts with black shorts and socks. The published club colours reflect the change made after the 1970 reformation, and the crest’s red and black design carries the same identity.
The connected club record places the current youth feed in the DDSL. The native Fixtures, Results and Standings tabs keep each 2026–2027 team’s competition record in its proper age-group context.
Community and joining
Football for a large local membership
Malahide United describes a broad community programme with more than 50 teams and two academies in its published club account. Its history also records sustained investment in Gannon Park facilities and youth development.
Families should use the club’s current website and public contact routes for registration, academy applications, fees, training locations and age-group contacts. Check the live fixture record before travelling, especially when a team uses a different pitch within the wider programme.
