Marino AFC
Community football from Croydon Park, with boys’, girls’, academy and senior pathways connected across Dublin football.
Club identity
Marino football since 1975
Marino AFC grew from local road-league football in 1975, when organisers created a pathway for boys whose community competitions had ended. The first season entered an under-16 and an under-18 side in the DDSL, and the under-18s won their section in that opening campaign.
The club’s crest centres on a historic Dublin building inside a blue-and-yellow shield, with a Marino A.F.C. ribbon beneath it.
Youth pathway
Boys, girls and academy football
Marino’s published pathway covers boys and girls from academy age through under-18, alongside senior teams. The first girls’ side entered the Dublin Women’s Soccer League in 1999, after which the club adopted the Marino AFC name to reflect both pathways.
The current official teams list includes boys’ groups from U7 through U18, girls’ groups from U9 through U16, and academy provision at Croydon Park. The native Teams module remains the season-specific reference for connected 2026–2027 squads.
Colours and crest
Navy, light blue and white
The connected club record identifies navy and light blue as the home colours, with white listed for change use. The enhanced crest keeps the original building image, blue shield, yellow edging and Marino A.F.C. ribbon while improving clarity for the club header and opening artwork.
Keeping one canonical crest across the club, team cards and match records makes the Marino identity easy to recognise through the season.
Croydon Park
A local base in Marino
Croydon Park Avenue is the club’s published Marino base. It is also named as the academy location, while individual league fixtures may list another Dublin ground for an age-group match. Check the fixture card before travelling so the date, kick-off and named venue are current.
For registration, training times, pitch access and age-group contacts, the club’s own public channels provide the latest practical information.
Competition record
DDSL and Leinster football
Marino AFC is connected to the DDSL youth structure and also lists the Leinster Football League among its football competitions. That combination gives the club a broad pathway from academy and youth football into senior participation, while each team’s page keeps its own season, division and match record distinct.
Use the native Fixtures, Results and Standings tabs to follow the relevant Marino team rather than reading one blended club total.
Community and joining
Football with a neighbourhood focus
The club describes itself as community football and publishes a public contact route through its website, email and Croydon Park base. Its safeguarding, coach and registration documents provide a clear framework for families joining youth football.
Marino also publishes a relationship with Shelbourne FC, including a coaching project. Families should confirm current registration windows, age-group availability and training arrangements directly through the club before attending.
