Maynooth Town FC
Football at Rathcoffey Road, carrying a long local story from community pitches to a modern multi-pitch home.
Club identity
Maynooth football with a local landmark at its centre
Maynooth Town FC’s crest places the town’s architectural and riverside imagery inside a black shield edged in red. The badge carries an Est. 1969 mark, while the club’s own history describes its development through a merger of Maynooth St Mary’s and Ballygoran United.
The club’s story follows a move through several temporary grounds before land at Rathcoffey Road enabled a permanent home and a new phase of football in Maynooth.
Youth pathway
Connected schoolboy and schoolgirl football
The club history records players progressing through schoolboy and schoolgirl football, senior teams and over-35s participation. The 2026–2027 DDSL connection keeps current youth squads, divisions and seasonal relationships in the native Teams module.
That live team view is the correct place to distinguish age groups and competitions. It avoids treating the club’s youth record as one single squad and keeps each team’s fixtures, results and standings attached to its own identity.
Honours and milestones
Senior achievements with a clear local thread
Maynooth Town won the Polikoff Cup in 2014, defeating Liffey Wanderers 1–0 at the Belfield Bowl. The club describes that success as a springboard into the Leinster Senior League.
A collaboration with Maynooth University reached the FAI Intermediate Cup final in 2018 and won the competition after a 4–1 extra-time victory over Firhouse Clover. In 2019, the club marked its fiftieth anniversary by hosting Waterford in an FAI Senior Cup tie at Rathcoffey Road.
Rathcoffey Road
A developed home in Maynooth
The club’s official story names Rathcoffey Road as the home of its clubhouse and modern facilities. It lists four pitches, changing rooms, showers, meeting rooms and a club shop, giving the site a substantial base for community and competitive football.
The recorded address is Rathcoffey Road, Maynooth, Co. Kildare, W23 R302. Match-day visitors should still check the individual fixture card for the pitch and any change of venue.
Colours and competition
White and black, with black and red change colours
The connected club record lists white and black as the home colours, with black and red for change use. The crest’s red edge and black field reinforce that visual identity across club, team and match cards.
Maynooth Town’s native competition tabs keep its current DDSL youth records separate from the senior history described by the club. Use the relevant team tab to follow the 2026–2027 schedule and table.
Community and joining
A Maynooth base for players and families
The club’s history reflects a community that kept football moving through different grounds before securing the Rathcoffey Road site. Its facilities now support youth, senior and over-35s football in one local setting.
Families should use the club’s current website and public social channel for registration windows, training details, age-group contacts and any changes to access. Before travelling, confirm the named venue and kick-off in the connected fixture record.
