Rathangan FC at Canal Road
Rathangan FC brings blue and navy football to Canal Road, with two grass pitches, 18 teams and a junior academy for boys and girls.
West Kildare identity
Rathangan FC is a west Kildare football club founded in 1994. The club has provided continuous football in Rathangan since the early 1990s and now works across adult, youth and academy football.
The crest carries the Rathangan F.C. name, a football, a blue river stripe and the 1994 date, matching the club colours used across teams at Canal Road.
Canal Road visit
Rathangan FC has two private grass pitches at Canal Road, Rathangan, County Kildare. The ground gives the club a settled home for senior teams, underage squads and academy activity.
Visitors should confirm whether the fixture is on the senior pitch, an underage pitch or part of a cup schedule before travelling. Canal Road is the main travel point for the club.

Academy and team pathway
The pathway starts with a junior academy for boys and girls aged 4 to 7. Rathangan then carries boys teams, girls teams, under 20 football, senior men, senior women and over 35 football.
The current structure includes three underage girls teams and age group boys football from non competitive entry points into competitive football. That gives local families several ways into the club.
Managers and age groups
The team manager structure covers non competitive boys, competitive boys, girls football, adult football and liaison roles. That gives parents a clear route to the right person for each age group.
Non competitive boys cover under 8, under 9 and under 10. Competitive boys cover under 12, under 13, under 14, under 15, under 16 and under 18. Girls football covers under 11, under 13 and under 15.
Progress and standards
Rathangan FC received a Kildare and District Football League Special Merit award in 2018, recognising the club progress and its contribution to the local community.
The club then received the FAI Club Mark award in 2021, adding a national football standards badge to its work on governance, management and club administration.
