T & S United is a juvenile soccer club serving Timahoe, Stradbally and neighbouring communities. Its story brings together first touches at academy age, Midlands league football and players who have gone on to represent other local clubs.
Club story
Growing football between Timahoe and Stradbally
T & S United’s roots reach back to around 2007. The club marked its tenth season with a family fun day in 2017. By the following summer it had more than 150 members, teams from under 9 to under 13 and an academy for younger children, as recorded in the 2018 awards report.
The club’s reach extends beyond the two neighbouring villages. Its 2022 season review named Vicarstown, The Heath, Portlaoise, Ratheniska, Ballyadams and Spink among the communities supplying players. That wider catchment gives families across this part of Laois a local starting point for soccer.
Timahoe Community Hall has also been part of club life. The August 2025 awards evening filled the hall after a season in which T & S entered its highest number of teams to that point.
Youth football
From first sessions to Midlands competition
T & S United competes in the Midlands Schoolboys League. Its recorded pathway has included an academy for ages five to eight and mixed teams for boys and girls. Those academy ages come from the 2021/22 season; contact the club for the current intake and the group suited to your child.
In 2024/25, the club fielded under 9, under 10 and under 11 teams in non competitive leagues, alongside older competitive teams. Younger players received participation medals, while the older groups celebrated cup success and league runner-up finishes.
A route into the wider local game
T & S United and Stradbally Town are separate clubs, but their football stories overlap. In a May 2026 interview, Stradbally Town player John Clancy recalled his youth football with T & S in Timahoe and coaches John Lowry and Gavin Deering. The report described many of that senior squad as former T & S players. This is a local progression story, not a promise of an automatic senior team place.

Football in Timahoe
The club is based in Timahoe, County Laois. Its grounds also gave neighbouring Stradbally Town a temporary home for roughly 15 months before that club opened its own Charter Road pitches in December 2024, according to the report of the new ground’s opening.
For a T & S match or first training visit, request the pitch entrance and meeting point from your coach. Do not assume that a Stradbally Town fixture and a T & S fixture use the same ground. Check parking, toilet access and any accessibility needs with the host before travelling.
