Friendship through football since 2002
Transport Iveagh Trust FC
Transport Iveagh Trust is an underage football club serving Dublin’s south west inner city from the Transport Club in Crumlin. Boys’ and girls’ football, volunteer coaching and a strong community purpose sit behind its own motto, “Friendship through Football”.
Club identity
Founded in 2002
The official club page gives 2002 as the foundation year and carries the club’s current notices, results and membership information.
Teams today
Boys and girls in DDSL football
Club reports record several age groups. Irish Youth Football currently links two boys’ records, at under 13 and under 16, for the 2026–2027 season.
Club standard
FAI Club Mark
The club announced FAI Club Mark accreditation in June 2025. It is an off field award for club management and administration, not a league or cup honour.
Colours and badge
Black and red
The DDSL club identity supplies the crest and records black and red as the home colours, with sky blue for the away strip.
Club story
A youth club built around its community
Transport Iveagh Trust dates its beginning to 2002. The club’s official material keeps football, membership and volunteer information together and signs off with “Friendship through Football”. Its base at the Transport Sports and Social Club gives the football teams a home in Crumlin while retaining close links with Dublin 8 and the south west inner city.
The current contact page names Stephen Whelan as chair, Brendan Darcy as club secretary, John Hayden as fixtures secretary and Ray McLoughlin as both treasurer and child welfare officer. Those roles can change, so players and families should use the club’s live page for current names and contact details.
A 2025 club appeal asked for new coaches and committee members as boys’ and girls’ teams grew. It also described the club as a safe football space for young players from Dublin 8, Dublin 12 and nearby areas. Volunteers were offered support to begin coaching rather than being expected to arrive with every qualification already completed.
The same appeal described a maintained grass pitch, training grounds and investment in the parking area to help access on match days. It did not establish a complete set of visitor facilities, so the club or team message remains the right place to check entrances, building access and arrangements for a particular fixture.
A complete league and cup honours record was not found in the official club and DDSL material reviewed for this profile. Individual wins and league positions are not listed as trophies without a named competition, age group and season.
IYF coverage
Two linked team records
The connected cards below cover under 13 and under 16 boys’ teams in the 2026–2027 DDSL season. They carry current competition and fixture relationships held on Irish Youth Football.
This is not the full modern club. The official news and results archives name other ages and girls’ football, so a missing card here should not be read as a missing team.
Local football
Dublin 8 and Dublin 12
A 2024 report on the Liberties Football Alliance names Transport Iveagh Trust among five clubs pressing for better pitches in Dublin 8. Chair Stephen Whelan spoke about young local players travelling outside the area for stronger facilities.
The Transport Club base in Dublin 12 supports that wider community reach.
Official video feature
