Trim Town FC

Longwood Road, Trim, County Meath

Red and black stripes · Academy, youth and senior football

Trim Town FC is a community club on Longwood Road in Trim, County Meath. It combines an academy and North Eastern Regional League youth teams with senior men’s football. The club has rebuilt its ground as a football and community base, while its annual Tommy Tournament brings young teams together in memory of two former members.

The available records confirm that Trim Town fielded two Meath and District League sides in 1989, but they do not establish the club’s founding year. This profile leaves that date open instead of guessing.

A club active across the decades

A Meath Chronicle look back at Trim Town in 1989 records a first team and a second team in the old Meath and District League. The second side finished runners up in Division 5 South in the 1988 to 1989 season, before separate reserve divisions were introduced.

Trim Town won the Gerry Bradley Memorial Shield in 1992, beating Robinstown 14 to 13 in a long penalty shootout at Tully Park. The same historical record notes a Premier A Reserve title in 2003. These are the named senior honours found during research; a full club trophy archive was not available.

The adult programme has changed over time. In August 2026, the club was reported in NEFL Division 2, while a second adult side had been withdrawn because of player numbers. The club’s present competition entry should be checked with the North East Football League before a match.

Academy and youth teams

The Trim Town Academy describes football development for Trim and the surrounding area, with UEFA qualified coaching and sessions at Longwood Road. Its current public bio lists Saturday morning activity, but families should confirm the time through the club before attending.

Irish Youth Football presently connects 2026 to 2027 boys team records at under 12, under 13, under 14 and under 15. Some records appear more than once because league and results data use separate provider entries. Those cards are useful for the competition links shown below, but they are not a headcount of separate squads.

No girls team, younger academy group, older youth side or senior team is connected in the IYF list at the time of review. This does not show that the club lacks those groups. Parents should ask the club directly about academy intake, girls football, the right birth year, available places and training arrangements.

The Tommy Tournament

The Tommy Tournament honours Thomas Winters and Thomas Farrell, two young members of the Trim Town football family who died too soon. The July 2026 event brought clubs from Meath and Dublin to Trim for ninety short games across three days.

Director of Football Keith Peppard helped organise the tournament. Trim Town has one pitch at its home ground, so another playing area in the town was hired to support the full programme. Tournament teams should use the event instructions because not every game takes place at the Longwood Road ground.

The event reflects the club’s work beyond weekly league fixtures. The club has spoken publicly about using its improved building as a community hub, giving children and families a place to meet as well as train and compete.

Badge and playing colours

The North Eastern Regional League supplies the crest used on this page. It is a yellow edged shield carrying the Trim Town name, a castle and green leaves on a red and white background.

The league’s Trim Town profile shows the home kit as red and black striped shirts with black shorts and black socks. The alternate kit uses a black shirt, grey shorts and black socks. Kit designs can change, so the league or club should be used for current orders.

Ground and facilities

The club’s home is on Longwood Road in Trim. A 2026 local report records a major volunteer led refurbishment, including a new clubhouse, dressing rooms, toilets and a gym. The work also covered the car park and safe goalposts. Local businesses supported the project with labour, equipment and materials.

Trim Town FC operates the football ground, but the available sources do not establish legal land ownership. The club is recorded as the verified primary user of the venue. See the Trim Town FC Grounds page for the map and venue notes.

The ground has one match pitch. The public sources reviewed do not confirm fixed spectator seating, shelter, refreshments, wheelchair routes or public transport information. Visitors who need a particular arrangement should contact the club before travelling.
