Limerick County and neighbouring communities
Local football, wider opportunities
Boys’ and girls’ club competitions sit alongside representative football across the county league.
The association
County and district football
Limerick County Schoolboys/Girls League is also known as the Limerick County & District Underage League, or LCDUL. Its green-and-white crest carries the year 1975, and its official website brings together club competitions, match information and league contacts.
This is a distinct organisation from Limerick District and Limerick Desmond. The county name does not place every Limerick team in the same league: different club age groups and pathways can play under different organisers. Check the named competition when following a team.
Club competitions
A programme for boys and girls
The league’s 2026/2027 programme includes boys’ age-group divisions and girls’ leagues, with a separate under-11 girls’ non-competitive programme. Its competition pages distinguish each age group and division, helping families follow the team they need.
The programme includes clubs such as Ballylanders, Cappamore Celtic, Charleville, Herbertstown, Holycross and Kilmallock. For a child starting football, contact the club about training, the appropriate group and registration. A league fixture listing is useful for following matches, but it is not a training timetable.
Representative football
A Gaynor Bowl final in 2026
Limerick County reached the 2026 Gaynor Cup Bowl final against Waterford. The sides finished level at 1–1 after extra time, before Waterford won the penalty shootout 4–3. County had taken the lead in the first half and remained in the contest through extra time.
That final was an achievement for the league’s representative side. Representative football brings players from club backgrounds into a shared squad; it sits alongside their regular club competitions. The dated tournament result belongs to that squad’s story, separate from current league standings.
Matchday enquiries
Find the right fixture contact
LCDUL’s contact directory provides separate boys’ and girls’ fixture-secretary roles, alongside the league secretary and other officers. Choose the appropriate route and include the age group, division, club names and match date when making a competition enquiry.
Before travelling, check the latest fixture information and confirm arrangements with the team. The official website separates fixtures, latest results, upcoming games and venues, so a change of time or ground can be checked against the correct match.
Families and volunteers
A separate route for welfare
The league publishes a child welfare officer contact separately from its fixture and administrative roles. Use that official directory for a welfare enquiry; joining and weekly training questions should go to the club.
Club volunteers can also use the league directory to find the secretary or the relevant competition contact. Keeping the purpose of the enquiry clear helps it reach the person responsible.
