Abbeyfeale United was founded in 1984 and is based at Riverside Park. Women’s national silverware, a men’s domestic treble and a Munster title are among the club’s leading achievements.
National and Munster honours
The club profile published by Limerick City and County Council records the Ladies FAI Junior Cup in 2008 and the domestic junior treble in 2015. It also recalls nine trophies won by four adult teams during 2014–15.
Abbeyfeale added the Munster Champions Cup in 2016. Fr Casey’s club notes congratulated the winners after a 3–2 victory over St Michael’s of Tipperary following extra time.
More recently, the B side won the Division 3 League Cup final in May 2025, beating Askeaton/Kilcornan B 3–2 after trailing at half time.
Football across the club
The Limerick Desmond League’s 2026–27 format places Abbeyfeale in the Premier Division, with its B side in Division 2 and its youth side in Division 1.
The Ladies League’s 2025–26 records show both Premier Division and under 19 football. Underage football is also part of the club: Askeaton/Kilcornan’s May 2025 report includes an under 13 boys’ match against Abbeyfeale.

Club clothing
Blue, navy and white
The Abbeyfeale range at DS Sports includes navy training tops with royal blue detail, blue shorts and socks, and white accents. The circular club badge appears on the chest. The range includes separate boys’, girls’, men’s and ladies’ clothing; confirm the required match kit with the club before ordering.
Visiting Riverside Park
Riverside Park is the league’s listed ground. Check the venue and kick off time for your match before travelling.
In September 2024, Abbeyfeale received a €199,327 allocation for an artificial pitch, LED lighting upgrades and a robotic mower. This funding announcement does not confirm completion. Ask the club about the current playing surface, footwear requirements, parking, toilets and access from the entrance to the pitch.
