Ballyhar Dynamos serves the parish of Firies, between Killarney and Tralee. The club was formed in 1975 and entered its first Kerry District League match in October 1976. Its home at Rusheen is Murt Scott Park.
Putting down roots
A home at Rusheen
After years on borrowed ground, the club’s history records the purchase of three acres at Rusheen in 2003. The pitch opened in September 2006 and the clubhouse in 2007.
The ground honours Murt Scott’s three decades of service before his death in July 2008.
Three Kerry Reserve Cup wins
Ballyhar’s own honours summary also records winning the Kerry area of the Munster Junior Cup. This was an area win, not the provincial trophy. The seasons and full divisional and underage honours remain unconfirmed.
Football through the age groups
The club’s September 2025 match reports cover boys’ and girls’ football as well as the senior men. They include girls’ under fourteen competition and boys’ football at under twelve, fourteen and sixteen level.
St Brendan’s Park’s September 2026 fixtures confirm Ballyhar’s continuing involvement in the Kerry youth leagues, with boys’ under twelve and under sixteen matches against Park. Full current squad coverage, academy intake and women’s provision remain unconfirmed.

Blue, white and the green crest
The official DSsports collection, linked from the club website, includes blue shirts with white trim and blue shorts. The green shield badge sits on the chest above a white scroll. Pink and navy training options are also listed; check with the coach before choosing kit.
Visiting Murt Scott Park

The club added a 40 by 25 metre artificial pitch in 2017. Road and car park resurfacing followed in 2020. The club website gives V93 VF1H for the ground.
Confirm the pitch and meeting point with your host. Ask about parking, changing rooms, toilets and accessible entry when planning a visit. The presence of a clubhouse does not confirm which facilities will be open for a particular match.
