Bonagee United is based at Dry Arch Park in Letterkenny, County Donegal. Founded in 1970, the club has grown through youth and senior football, with its first National League campaign beginning in 2026. Its academy gives local boys and girls a connection to the club long before senior matchdays.

Senior football
National League · 2026
Reporting ahead of the new campaign confirmed Bonagee’s step into the National League, the third tier of Irish football. The opening home fixture was scheduled against Home Farm at Dry Arch Park on 29 August 2026. This is the senior pathway, separate from underage team registrations.

League and cup successes
The club timeline records the 2009 Ulster Senior League Division One title and the 2022 USL League Cup. It also recalls the 2022 FAI Cup second-round meeting with Shelbourne, when national cup football brought a League of Ireland opponent to Dry Arch Park.

Club story
Three names, one Letterkenny club
The official history dates the club’s formation to 2 November 1970 at the Continental Bar on Letterkenny’s Main Street. It began as Arcade Athletic, became Bonagee Celtic in 1973 and adopted the Bonagee United name in 1975.
Land at Dry Arch was purchased in 1971, giving the club a lasting base. Later investment developed the ground around the football. That home remains central to the club’s identity, connecting its early local games with the senior side’s move into national competition.
In 2026, the club’s sponsorship announcement presented National League entry as a major step made possible by local volunteers and supporters. Its youth feature places the next generation alongside that senior story, with children taking part in matchdays and a stated ambition to keep progression rooted in Letterkenny.
