Bunratty Cratloe FC

Bunratty Cratloe FC brings together two Clare football traditions at Woulfe Park, with a pathway from Kickers through boys’, girls’, youths and adult football.

Bunratty Cratloe identity

Bunratty Cratloe FC was formed in 2010 when neighbouring Bunratty FC and Cratloe Celtic joined together. The club carries the history of both communities while building a shared football home at Woulfe Park in County Clare.

The boys’ home colours are blue and black, the girls’ home colours are pink and black, and grey is used as the alternate strip. Together they give each pathway its own clear identity.

Woulfe Park in Bunratty

Woulfe Park is the club’s home ground in Bunratty. The site is close to the communities of Bunratty, Cratloe and Clonmoney, which have helped sustain the club’s youth and adult pathway over many seasons.

Confirm the team’s pitch, entrance, parking and changing arrangements before travelling because several age groups can be active at the ground across a weekend.

From Bunratty FC to a shared Clare club

Bunratty FC began in 1990 to provide a sporting and social outlet for Bunratty and its surrounding area. The first under 14 team entered the Clare and District Soccer League in the 1990–91 season, travelling to every match while the club searched for a home pitch.

Cratloe Celtic also developed its own teams and grounds. The 2010 amalgamation joined two neighbouring football traditions and created the club now known as Bunratty Cratloe FC.

Youth football and school links

The club rebuilt its underage structure from a standing start and developed teams across boys’ and girls’ age groups. The pathway now starts with Kickers for younger children and continues through schoolboys, schoolgirls, youths and adult football.

The programme is supported by primary schools in Clonmoney and Cratloe, helping children move from first sessions into organised teams close to home.

Boys, girls and adult pathways

Bunratty Cratloe caters for boys and girls from age four through underage football and into adult participation. Current teams include Kickers, schoolboys, schoolgirls, youths and a junior men’s side, with age groups and squad places changing between seasons.

Families should include the player’s year of birth, experience and preferred pathway in a first enquiry. Ask about the next session, registration, fees, kit, pitch allocation and access needs.

Honours and club milestones

The under 16 team won the club’s first league title in 1995, and the youths followed with a league and cup double in 1996 after completing an unbeaten league season. Recent generations have added Clare cup success and national youth honours, including an under 14 girls’ national trophy in 2026.

These milestones reflect the long work of players, coaches and volunteers across both founding communities. The club’s strength comes from keeping that pathway active year after year.
