Clane United was founded in 1973 and won the Counties Cup in 1977. The club moved from Richardstown to its Doctors Road grounds in 1992.
The club lists two full size grass pitches, an artificial pitch, a smaller pitch and a clubhouse with changing facilities. Its published facilities information also identifies a defibrillator at the ground.
Clane United participates in Kildare youth and adult football. Current teams, membership and match arrangements are available through the official club website.
