Club story
Football at Doctors Road
Clane Utd AFC gives local players a route through youth football, with Doctors Road at the heart of club football.
Youth football
League winners at under 16 and under 18
Clane’s club history records the under 18s as KDUL Premier Division champions in 2014/15, clinching the title with two matches to spare under Richie Philips and Andrew Lloyd. The under 16s followed with a league title in 2016/17 under David O’Shea. These are separate youth achievements, each tied to the team and season that earned it.
Recent honours
Women’s and under 20 titles
The KDFL roll of honour lists Clane as 2025 Women’s League champions and 2024/25 under 20 league and cup winners. The club also won the 2025 Division One Cup. Earlier first team honours include Premier Division titles in 2007/08 and 2013.
Club facilities
Grass pitches, artificial surface and clubhouse
Clane’s published club information describes two full size grass pitches, an artificial pitch, a smaller pitch and a clubhouse with changing facilities. It also identifies a defibrillator at the ground. These facilities are at the Doctors Road base; visiting teams should check their assigned pitch with the home team before travelling.
Joining Clane
Contact the club for a team place
The club contact page gives claneunited@gmail.com as its general email address. Give the player’s age, the team sought and any previous football experience when asking about joining. Confirm the current training day, available places and registration fee directly with the club. Its fixtures page provides team and match information, with dates attached to the listed games.
Club story
From 1973 to the Doctors Road years
Clane United’s foundation in 1973 is recorded on its official ClubZap profile. The club’s earlier published history records a Counties Cup win in 1977 and a move from Richardstown to Doctors Road in 1992. That move established the base used by the club today, with its contact address placing the ground off Ballinagappa Road in Clane.
The youth record includes both the 2014/15 under 18 title and the 2016/17 under 16 title. The same club archive also covers fundraising, including its 2014 Strictly Come Dancing event, showing the volunteer and fundraising work behind the football. The archive is useful for those dated events; a new player should use the club’s contact details for this season’s teams and training arrangements.
Clane’s adult and under 20 honours add a more recent chapter. The 2025 women’s title and 2024/25 under 20 double sit alongside the men’s Division One Cup success in the league’s records. They belong to different teams and competitions within the club. Match lists and league tables on this page cover the teams linked in the IYF records, so the club remains the contact for the full range of teams and any available places.
