Clara Town at Stanley O’Hara Park
Clara Town FC is an Offaly football club founded in 1966, with its home at Stanley O’Hara Park in Lissanisky. The club bought and developed these grounds in 1999. Its football includes adult competition, underage teams and opportunities for young girls to start the game, with a major ground development adding to its story in 2026.

Paddy Cotter Cup winners in 2022
Clara won the Paddy Cotter Cup for the first time in May 2022, beating Monksland United 3–1 at Frank O’Connell Park in Birr. Josh Fleming scored twice and Robert McDonagh added the third. The final report records Clara coming from a goal behind in its first appearance in the decider.

The 2026 Midlands Kennedy Cup squad announcement included Clara Town among the clubs represented in its 20 player panel. This was a league representative squad, selected from clubs across the Midlands, for the June tournament at the University of Limerick. Clara’s own teams and their matches remain separate from that representative programme.

Club story
Ground ownership and a first Cotter Cup
Founded in 1966, Clara Town reached a lasting milestone when it secured its own Lissanisky grounds in 1999. The 2026 report on Stanley O’Hara Park connects that purchase with the club’s later investment in its facilities. In July 2026, Clara announced an official opening for its new artificial pitch facilities on 2 August. The approved project included a 66 by 96 metre pitch, a 750 metre walking track and LED lighting.
The 2022 Cotter Cup final brought another first. Neither Clara nor Monksland had previously won the trophy, and Clara trailed early in the second half before Fleming equalised. His second goal put Clara ahead and McDonagh’s late header completed the win. The match account names Fleming as man of the match and records the contribution of Stephen Deehan alongside the younger players in the side.
