Claremorris AFC was founded in early 1985 following a meeting in Hanley’s Bar. A 2015 interview published by the club recalls an unbeaten first league season and a league and cup double.
Youth football became part of the club’s early development. Its under 18 team won a league and cup double in 1988, and players progressed into the adult side.
