From Park Gardens to a home at Athlunkard
Corbally United AFC began with a schoolboy team in 1979 and grew into a club with football from childhood through to the adult game. Its home is at Athlunkard, serving Corbally and the surrounding community. The club’s current programme includes boys’ and girls’ teams, youth football and junior squads.

The 2026/27 training schedule includes under 7 and under 8 groups, boys’ teams from under 9 through the older schoolboy age groups, and under 17 and under 18 football. Named girls’ groups include under 9, under 10, under 11/12 and under 16. Several age groups have A, B or C squads. Ask the club which group fits your child’s birth year and experience.

The published schedule puts under 7 training on Saturday from 9 to 10.15 am and under 8 on Saturday from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Under 10 girls have Wednesday 5 to 6 pm and Sunday 11.30 am to 12.45 pm slots. Older teams have weekday evening sessions. Confirm the coach, meeting point and any changes before a first visit.
Membership
Published fees for 2026/27
The club membership page lists €130 for under 6–10, €140 for under 11–16 and €85 for under 17–18. Family membership is €205 for two or more players aged under 6–16. Payment can be made in full or in four monthly instalments. The schoolboy and schoolgirl fee includes one registered parent per family with AGM voting rights. A separate junior membership product covers the adult game; check its terms before paying.

Junior teams on the weekly timetable
Corbally’s current schedule lists Junior A, B and C training. Its 2025/26 results include Limerick District League Premier Division football. Contact the secretary for the current squad and competition details, as team allocations and training arrangements can change between seasons.
Club story
Schoolboy beginnings and a permanent ground
The club’s history begins with a 1979 meeting in Park Gardens. Corbally won its first schoolboy trophy in 1992, beating Prospect 3–1 in the under 10 Cup. That group won a league title the following year. In 1993, another landmark was a National Cup final against Home Farm, decided by a late goal for the Dublin side.
Corbally entered junior football in 1996 and reached the Premier League in 2001. Buying its Athlunkard grounds in 1997 gave it a permanent base after years centred on Shannon Fields. The club credits volunteers and local families with developing the facilities.
The club website records its youth side as Division Two League Cup champions in 2024. Its official video channel also carries highlights from the 2026 under 17 Division One Cup final against Charleville. These provide a view of successive youth teams progressing through local competition.
