A growing club with a permanent home

Dunshaughlin Youths FC was founded in 1990 as a community club for the town and surrounding area. The club’s own introduction describes it as part of village life and sets out a friendly, fair and competitive approach to football. Its published constitution names the organisation as Dunshaughlin Youths Football Club, so “Youths” belongs to the club identity rather than describing one age group.

The same club page reports more than 35 teams and over 600 male and female members each week. It places underage football in the North Eastern Regional League, men’s senior teams in the UCFL and the women’s senior team in the NEFL. These are the club’s current headline figures, not a fixed census: registrations, squads and league arrangements can change between seasons.

The club constitution states that the club seeks FAI affiliation and can affiliate with schoolboy, schoolgirl and other leagues. It recognises juvenile members, adult members and parents of juvenile members, and requires coaches to be vetted. The coaching page encourages coaches to take FAI training, while the club displays an FAI Club Mark logo on its home page.

The club’s public social profile describes boys’ and girls’ football from U7 to senior level, along with over-35s. That wider pathway matters when reading the IYF relationships. The club fixture archive also shows boys’ and girls’ age groups, a women’s team and games at both The Willows and MDL pitches.

Irish Youth Football currently connects 37 team records for the 2026–27 NERL season. Thirty-four are boys-coded: nine U12, eight U13, nine U15, three U16 and five without an age label. Two are girls-coded U15 records. One further record has neither an age nor a pathway label. Repeated names may represent separate competition imports rather than 37 distinctly named squads. This is incomplete team coverage. There are no connected academy, adult, over-35 or boys-coded U7–U11, U14, U17, U18 or U19 cards. Girls’ cards appear only at U15 even though the club advertises a much wider girls’ programme. Families should use the club’s online registration and contact details for any missing age.

The club home page highlights three 2024 successes through named images: U14 Division 2 winners, Youths Boys Plate winners and U16 Major Shield winners. They are reported as club-listed honours because the page does not attach a full competition history or match account to each image. A 2026 Peter Clifford Cup final appearance by the adult side is not presented as an honour because the published final result records a defeat.

NERL registers a blue-and-black vertically striped shirt with black shorts and black socks. No alternative kit is published on the league profile, so this page does not guess one. The same source provides the current DYFC badge used in IYF’s automatic team and match displays.

The club moved into The Willows in 2022. Its opening-day report says the new pitches were formally opened on 1 October beside The Willows housing development, new school sites and a crèche. The venue is also home to Dunshaughlin Athletic Club, whose running track shares the development.

The opening involved small-sided games from U7 to U12, an U16 girls’ exhibition and the start of a senior women’s side. It also introduced the Willows Cup as a proposed annual challenge event. That opening-day cup is not mixed into the club’s formal league and shield honours.

The management page identifies a head of facilities among the club roles, and NERL maintains a dedicated venue record. Public pages do not give a reliable visitor facilities inventory, match parking plan or step-free access details. The site sits within a shared sports and school area, so the correct entrance may matter on a busy day.
