Club identity

Home Farm football from Whitehall

Home Farm Football Club was founded in the Drumcondra and Whitehall area in 1928. Its origins lie in local street football, where Home Farm Road and Richmond Road teams joined together and created the club that continues today.

The club crest uses a blue shield, a gold figure and the Home Farm Football Club name. That identity now spans youth football, academy development and senior teams in north Dublin.

Youth pathway

Boys, girls and academy football

Home Farm’s current club structure includes boys’ DDSL football, girls’ DDSL football, senior registration and a football academy. The academy’s stated purpose is developing footballers and friendships, with a current registration route published by the club.

Exact age groups, teams and 2026–2027 competition links are kept in the live Teams area. That module remains the authoritative source for the current squad and league connections.

Colours and crest

Blue and white hoops

Home Farm Football Club crest

Home Farm’s official history records blue and white hoops as the club colours from its second season, replacing the original black-and-gold shirts. The badge carries the 1928 foundation date and the club’s blue-and-gold visual language.

Home grounds

Whitehall, Mobhi Road and Albert College

Home Farm lists three playing locations in the Whitehall area. Five- and seven-a-side pitches are at the VEC Grounds, 97a Swords Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9. Other matches use the Mobhi Road pitch at 123 St Mobhi Road and Albert College Park on Ballymun Road.

Visitors should check the live fixture listing for the assigned ground before travelling, since the club’s teams share these locations across the week.

Competition and history

A major place in Irish football history

Home Farm entered League of Ireland football in 1972. In 1975, the club’s amateur side won the FAI Senior Cup by beating Shelbourne 1–0 at Dalymount Park, with Frank Devlin scoring the winning goal. The club history also records earlier FAI Junior Cup and FAI Intermediate Cup successes.

Those senior honours sit alongside the club’s continuing DDSL youth work. Current fixtures, results and standings on this page remain focused on the connected 2026–2027 teams.

Club history

Home Farm was formed in 1928 in the Drumcondra and Whitehall area. Two street league teams, Home Farm Road and Richmond Road, joined together after Richmond Road lost the use of its football. Early games used nearby fields before the club obtained a temporary pitch beside Griffith Avenue. The first jerseys were black and gold; blue and white hoops followed the next season. Home Farm entered League of Ireland football in 1972. Its amateur side, managed by Dave Bacuzzi, won the 1975 FAI Cup by beating Shelbourne 1–0 at Dalymount Park, with Frank Devlin scoring the winning goal.
