Monread FC
Monread FC is a football club in Naas, County Kildare. The club won its first trophy in 2012, during its first KDUL season. The senior side later won three league titles in three years, becoming Kildare & District Football League Senior Division champions in 2018.

2012 KDUL cup 3-2 after extra time
Monread were two goals down to Kildare Town in the 2012 cup final. They fought back to force extra time, then Luke White scored the winner in a 3-2 victory that brought the club its first trophy.
It was Monread’s first season in the Kildare & District Underage League. Their supporters had watched a goal ruled out in extra time before White settled the match. For a club just starting out in the competition, it was some way to win a first trophy.

Monread’s senior side worked their way up through the Kildare leagues. They finished second in Division 4 in 2013, Division 3 in 2014 and Division 2 in 2015.
Then came three successive league titles: Division 1 in 2016, the Premier Division in 2017 and the Senior Division in 2018. Monread also won the Premier Cup in 2017. In five years, the club had gone from Division 4 runners up to champions of the KDFL’s top division.

Leinster cup football in 2026
Larney Baker Cup Quarter finals
In March 2026, Monread’s Premier 1 Saturday side beat Glasnevin 3-0 at Kerdiffstown Park to reach the Larney Baker Cup quarter finals.
The teams were level at half time. Eoin O’Neill opened the scoring after the break, with Wes Hawkins and Lee Kenna-Baldwin adding the other goals. The club’s Major Sunday side had also reached the quarter finals of the Leinster Junior Cup that season.

Monread Avenue Naas Grass pitches
Monread Park is Monread FC’s home ground, on Monread Avenue in Naas. The pitches sit within a public park rather than a stadium.
The park has two soccer pitches and a junior GAA pitch. Other clubs use the park too, so check the pitch as well as the kick-off time before setting out.

Monread Park has a playground, benches and picnic tables. There are about 2 km of walking paths around the park.
The ground is relatively flat, and the park entrances accommodate buggies and wheelchairs. That describes access into the park; conditions beside a grass pitch can change after rain.
