St Anthony’s Youths
St Anthony’s Youths is a football club from Kilcullen, County Kildare. Formed in 2016 after its first seasons in the KDUL, the club climbed through the Kildare & District Football League and won consecutive Division 1 Cups in 2023 and 2024. A year later, St Anthony’s won the Premier Division Cup in its first season at that level.

From the KDUL to adult football
Formed 2016 KDUL KDFL
Keith Powell established St Anthony’s Youths in 2016. The club spent its opening seasons in the Kildare & District Underage League before entering an adult side in Division 3 of the KDFL.
The senior team found its feet quickly. A KDFL account of the club’s early years records a Division 2 play-off place in 2021, only its third adult season.

Division 3 Division 1 Premier Division
St Anthony’s rose from Division 3 to Division 1 during the club’s first decade. In 2024, the team won its opening 13 matches before injuries checked a push for the league title.
That run still ended with promotion. St Anthony’s entered the KDFL Premier Division in 2025, nine years after the club was formed.

Three cup wins in three seasons

Dean Conroy scored the only goal when St Anthony’s won the 2023 Division 1 Cup. The club retained the trophy in 2024, beating Naas United 4-3 after a Tom Healy hat trick and a late penalty from Rob Ryan.
The next final brought a new trophy. Ross Dowling Connor and Ross Cahill scored in a 2-0 Premier Division Cup win over Kildare Town in Castledermot in October 2025.

Academy Underage teams Senior football
Bringing young Kilcullen players into adult football has been part of the club’s work from the start. St Anthony’s opened its first kids academy in 2021.
By 2024, 11 players from the Under 20 group had joined the senior panel. At the time, St Anthony’s had two senior teams, two underage teams, an academy and close to 100 members.

St Anthony’s is based at the all weather pitch beside Kilcullen Community Centre. The ground has been the setting for the club’s training, underage football and senior matches.
As a shared community venue, the pitch can have several bookings across a weekend. Check the venue and kick-off time on the current fixture before travelling.

Kilcullen’s population has grown quickly, and St Anthony’s has given more local players a route into organised football. Parents should ask the club about the right group for their child’s year of birth, training days, fees and places before attending.

The club’s home address is Kilcullen Community Centre Astro, Kilcullen, County Kildare. Cup finals and other matches can be played at neutral grounds, so follow the venue named on the fixture rather than assuming every game is in Kilcullen.
