Rathbride Road pathway
Academy, youth, senior, women’s and masters football meet at Rathbride Road.
Club roots
From 1966 to Rathbride Road
Kildare Town FC dates to 1966 and plays from Rathbride Road in Kildare town. The club’s black, white and red crest carries the town name, a shield, cross, football, laurel branches and an anniversary ribbon.
The Rathbride Road club house and front gates sit at the heart of the venue, and the football programme runs from academy age to over 35 football. The club has grown around local volunteers, family football and adult teams serving the town.
Fergal Finn’s 2025 return as first team manager links the senior side with the late 1990s and early 2000s team that won the Leinster Junior Cup at Dalymount Park.
Places to know
Home ground and match venues
For most home visits, use Rathbride Road, Kildare, R51 XW57. KDFL venue material places Kildare Town AFC on Rathbride Road, and public procurement material gives the same club address.
The club has also used Kildare Town Community School for underage match activity, so visiting families should check the fixture notice and team message before travel.

Young players
Academy, boys and girls football
The academy introduces younger children before age group teams take over. St Brigid’s Primary School’s local clubs page places the academy up to age 10, then underage teams from age 10 upward.
KDUL football includes Kildare Town squads from under 10 through under 17, with black and red groups used to distinguish age group teams. Families should use the player’s birth year when asking for the right coach.
A Kildare coaching provider also identifies its base at FBD Park and names Kildare Town academy and underage coaching among its staff experience. That supports the club’s pathway link between beginner football and older youth squads.
Adult football
Senior, women’s and masters teams
KDFL divisional material names Kildare Town AFC in Premier, Division 2 and Division 3 football for 2025, along with Women’s Division, under 20 Premier Division and women’s futsal.
At adult level, the club has run three men’s teams, masters football and a senior ladies team. That gives the town a route from first touches through teenage football and into adult leagues.
Women and girls should ask the club which age group or adult squad is active for the new season. Team availability can change, so the right answer is the one confirmed by the club contact.

Notable Kildare Town wins
These entries keep season, team and competition together, and focus on named wins rather than ordinary match results.
Joining and visiting
How to make first contact
Use the club’s Facebook page or the club email carried on its own site, kildaretownafc1966@gmail.com. For a child’s first session, include year of birth, playing experience, and the type of football the family is looking for.
Ask about places, training days, registration, fees, kit, coach contact and the club’s child welfare contact. Wait for confirmation before arriving for a session or buying gear.
Visiting team officials should confirm the venue, kick off time, parking, changing rooms and access needs with Kildare Town before match day.
