Killester and Donnycarney, Dublin 5
One northside club with two roots
From Hadden Park to Maypark, the club links senior, women’s, boys’ and girls’ football under one red and maroon badge.
A joined club with deep roots
Killester United began on 26 May 1957, when St Brigid’s FC and Woodside United came together around the Killester football ground that later became Hadden Park. Donnycarney FC followed in 2011 through St Martin’s Boys and Ramble Inn Celtic.
The current club dates from summer 2018, when Killester United and Donnycarney FC joined into Killester Donnycarney FC. That makes the page title the current club identity, while Killester United and Donnycarney FC are part of the club’s predecessor story.
Hadden Park
Hadden Park, Killester, Dublin 5, is the club address, senior football home and clubhouse base. The official directions send visitors in from Abbeyfield, with Nuns Walk, Killester or the published coordinates 53.375437, -6.202902 for sat nav.
The ground sits in the old Killester football area, close to the houses and streets that have fed the club for generations. For senior matches, visitors should still check the fixture venue before travel, as cup ties and league games can move.
Senior home and clubhouse: Hadden Park, Killester, Dublin 5.
Maypark
Maypark in Donnycarney carries underage home games and a large share of training. The club directions give a car park and entrance from Clanmaurice Road, plus another entrance from Killester Avenue with parking along the avenue.
This is the ground families are most likely to see on DDSL youth fixtures for Killester Donnycarney FC. It should be treated as a separate current football location rather than folded into Hadden Park.
Underage match and training venue: Maypark, Donnycarney, Dublin 5.
Football pathway
The official club sections cover senior men, senior women, schoolboys, schoolgirls and nursery football. That gives new families a clear entry point at the youngest ages, then schoolboy and schoolgirl teams, then adult football at club level.
Schoolboy and schoolgirl teams sit in the Dublin and District Schoolboys’/Girls’ League, with Maypark as the regular youth venue. Senior men’s football includes a Sunday Premier team and a Saturday Division 1A team in the Leinster Senior League, and the club keeps senior women’s football visible through its adult section.
Selected honours
Read these honours as part of the predecessor lines that fed the current club, not as one single current-club roll call.
Crest and colours
The club colours are red or maroon with white, matching the current circular crest. The badge carries the Killester Donnycarney name around a white interlaced knot on a red centre.
The knot is a good visual fit for a club made from two football strands. It keeps the modern club distinct from the older Killester United name, while still respecting the route from Hadden Park and the Donnycarney schoolboy line.
Ground and clubhouse view
The club’s own bird’s eye film gives families a quick look at Hadden Park, the clubhouse and the playing area before a first visit.
