Kilmurry and Crossmolina, County Mayo
Youth football with a clear home base
Kilmurry Youths gives young players a Mayo pathway from academy football into boys and girls teams at Kilmurry Pitch and Centre.
From one team to a Mayo youth club
Official club channels use Kilmurry Youths FC; the shorter Kilmurry Youths name points to the same club around Kilmurry and Crossmolina. The club dates to 1990, when it began with 15 members and one Under 15 boys team.
By 2022 the club had passed 300 members, with academy groups and youth teams serving families across the Crossmolina area. The club’s own channels focus on young players rather than adult senior teams, so the football story is centred on children, teenagers and family volunteers.
Kilmurry Pitch and Centre
Kilmurry Pitch and Centre is the club venue for home football and local club gatherings. It gives visiting teams a clear destination near Crossmolina, with the pitch and community centre name matching the club’s own football setting.
Families should still check the fixture venue and club message before travel, as age groups and cup rounds can change arrangements. The map below points to the Kilmurry Pitch and Centre location rather than a town-centre search.

Academy, boys and girls teams
The academy sits at the youngest end of the pathway, with outdoor activity tied to Kilmurry Pitch and underage football moving through boys and girls teams. Club notices have named Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 groups, while younger players have been brought through academy age bands before league football.
Mayo Schoolboys/Girls and Youths AFL runs underage football in County Mayo up to Under 18 and sits within the Connacht FA, SFAI and FAI pathway. That gives Kilmurry teams a local Mayo route before any wider Connacht or national cup football.
Girls football and community coaching
Girls football has a clear place inside the club. In 2026, Jes Gough received a Mayo Volunteers in Sport Award for work connected with girls football at Kilmurry Youths, including chances for local players to move from club soccer into wider Mayo, Connacht and national activity.
That gives parents a clear signal that girls football has its own coaching energy at Kilmurry, alongside the boys teams and academy. It also matches the club’s wider purpose of giving children from the Crossmolina area a friendly place to learn the game.
Crest and visual identity
The crest is blue, black and white, with a mountain, waves, a football and the 1990 date above the Kilmurry FC ribbon. The mark feels rooted in Mayo place as much as in team football.
The mountain and waves give the badge a strong local landscape feel, while the football and ribbon keep the identity plain for players and visiting teams. It is a tidy, recognisable crest for a club whose name is closely tied to its community.
Joining and safeguarding
The club’s ClubZap site carries membership and club news, and the official email is loftus.tp@gmail.com. Families can use ClubZap first, then confirm the right age group, registration step and venue with the club before sending any forms or fees.
Parent volunteers have been directed to FAI Garda vetting and a Level 1 Child Safeguarding Course in club notices. That keeps the joining conversation linked to coaching help and player care, not only payment.
