A blue and white CMS Park pathway

Kiltimagh Knock United connects underage football, girls and women’s teams, boys football, KickFit activity and community facilities at CMS Park.

Kiltimagh Knock identity

Kiltimagh Knock United is the blue and white soccer club serving Kiltimagh, Knock and the surrounding Mayo community. The crest carries the Kiltimagh Knock United name, Established 2002, and a shield with four local identity marks around a central cross.

The modern club was formed in 2002 when Kiltimagh Athletic joined with neighbours Knock United. Soccer in Kiltimagh reaches back to the early 1970s, so the current badge connects a newer united structure with a longer local football story.

CMS Park in Cloonlee

CMS Park is the club base at Cloonlee, close to Kiltimagh and Knock. For families, the simplest travel details are Kiltimagh Knock United Club House, F12 HF61, and the CMS Park name. The ground sits a short drive from Kiltimagh and around two miles from Knock Shrine.

The site has grown into a full community football venue with dressing rooms, grass football space, training space and an astro area. The ground is used for training, home games, player registration, club activity and wider community events.

Facilities and ground care

The facility picture includes state of the art dressing rooms, a playing pitch, a training pitch and an astro turf facility that can be used by other clubs and groups. Ground care is a serious part of the club operation, with two full sized pitches and surrounding areas maintained through the year.

Club development has also included work around clubhouse retrofit, a water filter station, pitch and stand progress, and facility fundraising for a new pitch, lighting and road resurfacing. Those details show that CMS Park is a working football base as well as a weekend match venue.

Girls and women pathway

Girls football is a major part of the club story. Underage girls football was restarted through Soccer Sisters activity, with an under 12 team following and the pathway growing through under 14, under 16 and under 18 age groups. The club then built toward under 19 and senior women activity.

The women’s pathway has included senior women’s football in the Mayo League, a wider female team ladder and players who have represented Mayo, Connacht and Ireland. For a new player, that means Kiltimagh Knock is more than a boys club with a girls section attached; female football is part of the club identity.

Boys, academy and youth football

The wider youth pathway covers boys and girls from under 8 level upward, with the 2026 club picture including 15 teams from senior women down to under 8 boys and girls. That spread gives families a clear ladder from first football experiences into older youth football.

The club’s underage work has helped players progress from CMS Park into representative settings. Former players have stepped into Mayo FC under 17 and under 20 panels, with their Kiltimagh Knock grounding described through coaching, welfare, technical work, confidence and regular competitive football.

KickFit and adult participation

CMS Park has also hosted Cadbury FAI KickFit activity, including a Connacht regional blitz. KickFit is aimed at women aged 18 plus and is designed around fitness, friendship and participation, with a friendly football setting rather than a results first environment.

The programme has helped connect new adult players with club football and volunteer roles. At Kiltimagh Knock, it has developed into weekly sessions and inter club games, giving the club another entry point for women who want to play, return to football, coach, help or simply take part.

Clubmark, coaching and standards

The club has held FAI Clubmark 1 Star status, a useful marker for organised grassroots standards. The coaching picture is built around player welfare, steady development and volunteer support, from early age groups to older youth football.

The clearest theme across the club is progression. New players can begin with underage football, move through age groups, take part in girls or boys squads, stay involved through adult football and see a route toward Mayo representative football when ability and commitment match that level.

Committee, partners and volunteers

The 2026 club structure includes Seamus Hughes as chairperson, Brendan Burke as secretary and Mary Niland continuing as treasurer. The club also added volunteers to the committee, which matters because a 15 team community club needs coaches, administrators, grounds people, parents and helpers to keep the programme moving.

CMS Distribution is the main sponsor, and the club’s relationship with Western Care at the KK Hub continues to develop. The weekly 50/50 draw, local support and volunteer effort all feed into the same goal: keeping CMS Park active for players and families from the Kiltimagh and Knock area.

First enquiry checklist

A first message to Kiltimagh Knock United should include the player name, year of birth, home area, football background and whether the enquiry is for boys football, girls football, senior women, KickFit, facility hire, registration, volunteering, coaching or welfare.

Before travelling, confirm the age group, coach contact, training time, meeting point, pitch area, footwear, registration status and whether the session is on the grass pitch, training pitch, astro space, clubhouse area or another arranged CMS Park location.
