Football on Togher Road
Girls, boys, women and men have a green and white football home in Monasterevin.
A 1982 club in green and white
Monasterevin AFC carries a 1982 date on its badge and plays in the green, white and yellow colours familiar around the Kildare football circuit. The club is based in Monasterevin and keeps its main public contact, fixtures, policies and membership routes together through its own website.
The football identity is broad rather than single team based. Underage football, under 20 football, women’s football, senior men’s football and masters football all appear across the club’s current and recent competition material.
Togher Road and Barrett Park
The club’s contact details give Togher Road, Monasterevin, Co Kildare, W34 VH74 as the football location. KDFL venue material also places Monasterevin AFC on Togher Road, while the club’s membership channel names Barrett Park alongside Togher Road.
For a match visit, check whether your team has been told Togher Road, Barrett Park or another named pitch. The underage fixture stream has used both Barrett Park and Togher, so a quick message to the coach is the simplest way to arrive at the correct gate.

From academy groups to adult football
Families looking at Monasterevin can start with the club’s academy, KDUL fixtures and membership routes. The club presents itself as a place for players from the youngest football groups through to senior level, with boys and girls able to move from learning the game into regular team football.
That broad pathway matters for parents. Ask which group fits the player’s age, whether the next step is academy, KDUL league football, futsal or adult football, and which venue is being used that week.
Women’s football with cup weight
Monasterevin’s women’s team gives the club one of its clearest recent achievements. KDFL coverage of the 2025 So Fresh Entertainment Women’s Cup final records a 4-1 Monasterevin win over Derry Rovers, with second half goals turning a level game into a trophy day.
The KDFL roll of honour also names Monasterevin as Women’s Cup winners in 2021, 2024 and 2025, with runner up finishes in 2022 and 2023. That run shows a women’s section that has stayed relevant in county competition over several seasons.
Senior, under 20 and masters football
KDFL divisional material places Monasterevin across several adult and older youth strands: senior Division 1, under 20 Premier, Masters Division 2, women’s football and women’s futsal. Those entries make the club more than an underage stop.
Adult players should still check the latest KDFL fixture and table links before making plans, because divisions and cup draws can change from season to season. The safest first question is which squad is training, when it meets and who is taking new players.
Making the first enquiry
Parents can use the club website, membership link or social channels to ask about the right team. Include the player’s age, previous football, whether they are looking for academy or league football, and any availability limits around training.
Senior players, women’s players and masters players should ask directly about the current squad before travelling. Visiting teams should confirm Togher Road or Barrett Park, the pitch meeting point and the kick off time with the organiser.
