Newbridge football with a full youth to adult route

Founded in 2016, Newbridge United brings academy, girls, boys, youth, women, masters and senior football together around Corrigan Park.

Newbridge United identity

Newbridge United F.C. is a County Kildare football club founded in 2016. The crest uses red, black and white, carries the Newbridge United F.C. name, includes the separated 20 and 16 foundation year, and carries the motto Ludere causa ludendi.

The club has grown quickly into a large community football setting with more than 400 players across its age groups. Its purpose is simple: give Newbridge players a local route from first touches through teenage and adult football.

The 2016 start

Newbridge United began in 2016 with a focus on youth football for the town and wider county. The club grew from a small group into a broad football community that supports players across many stages of development.

The core values are fairness, teamwork, respect, integrity and sportsmanship. Those values sit beside the practical aim of building confidence, skill and belonging for young players.

Corrigan Park home

Corrigan Park is the main match venue for Newbridge United. It is used across underage and adult football, with recent home fixtures including girls teams, boys teams, senior men, women and masters football.

The venue is associated with Newhall in County Kildare, and visitors should always confirm the exact pitch, arrival time and parking arrangements before travelling.

Academy at Chapel Lane

The Newbridge United academy welcomes boys and girls aged 4 to 9. Sessions have been held on Sunday mornings at Chapel Lane, giving younger players a first step into football before they move into regular teams.

The academy information highlights Garda vetted coaches and completed child protection courses. Families can ask about places through Damien on 087 3866386 or by email at academynufc@gmail.com.

Underage spread

The club’s underage football reaches from early years into older teenage teams. Current youth connections include under 9 A and B, under 10 red, under 11 white, under 12, under 13, under 14, under 16, under 17 and under 18 football.

Competition names connected with Newbridge United include under 9 Twin Yellow, under 10 Black, under 11 Blue, under 12 Major 2, under 12 Major 3, under 14 Major, under 16 Major 1, under 17 Major 1 and under 18 Major.

Girls and women

Girls football is visible through under 10 girls, under 12 girls and under 13 girls activity. That gives families a girls pathway inside the same club setting as the boys teams.

At adult level, Newbridge United has also appeared in KDFL Women’s Division football. This creates a local route from girls football into the adult game for players who want to continue.

Senior, masters and cup football

The adult section has played in Kildare and Leinster football settings, including KDFL Senior Division, Leinster Senior League Senior 1A Sunday, KDFL Women’s Division, Masters Division, LFA Junior Cup and LSL Lummy O’Reilly Cup football.

Corrigan Park has hosted adult fixtures across these strands, giving the club a match day home for more than one adult team.

Under 20 and older teenagers

The official results area has carried under 20 football as part of the club’s older pathway. That matters because it gives players a step between school age football and adult squads.

Older teenage football sits beside under 17 and under 18 activity, so families with players in later school years can ask about the right training group and match level before joining.

Coaching support

In 2024, Newbridge United added a coaching development partnership to support coaches with digital session planning and training content. The aim is to improve weekly sessions and give volunteers more practical tools.

That coaching layer fits with the academy safeguards, the club’s player development focus and the wider pathway from early years to adult football.

Membership and communication

Membership is handled online, with renewal and fees areas available through the club’s digital channels. The club also moved registrations, team communication, event messages and member updates into a central club app in 2024.

For parents and players, that means joining steps, notices and match information should be checked through the club’s own digital channels as well as with the relevant coach.

Events and fundraising

Fundraising and social activity form part of the club’s community life. Recent club items have included player expression of interest, a quiz night at Sarsfields GAA Club, a music bingo night and 10 year anniversary awards fundraising.

These events help connect families beyond the pitch and support the practical costs of running a large youth and adult football club.

Match day guidance

Families should check the age group, competition, venue and kickoff time before travelling, because Newbridge United teams can play at different levels on the same weekend.

Visiting teams should confirm whether the match is at Corrigan Park or another venue, then check arrival time, changing arrangements, warm up space and parking with the host contact.

Joining Newbridge United

A first enquiry should include the player’s age, school year, football experience and whether the enquiry is for academy, girls, boys, youth, under 20, women, masters or senior football.

Main club enquiries can be sent to newbridgeutdfc@gmail.com. Academy enquiries can be sent to academynufc@gmail.com, and the academy contact number published by the club is 087 3866386.
