Regional United in Dooradoyle
Regional United FC brings red, black and white football to Dooradoyle, with a pathway from under 7 football through Junior A.
South side roots
Regional United F.C. was founded in 1974 through the work of Lorcan Harney and Seamus Ryan, who wanted football for a growing community on the south side of Limerick city.
The club grew quickly from modest beginnings into one of the larger Limerick District League clubs. The same Dooradoyle setting remains central to the club story.
Dooradoyle and Sluggary
The club plays from its Dooradoyle base at Sluggary, Limerick. The playing complex sits on the same site where Regional United began and gives the club a settled home for teams, training and match activity.
Visitors should use Dooradoyle Road or Sluggary when planning the trip, then confirm the team grade, pitch and arrival time close to match day.

Scale of the pathway
Regional United has more than 500 playing members across the pathway, from under 7 football to Junior A. That gives families a large club setting with age group football, youth football and adult teams under one name.
Current team labels include Junior A, Junior B, Ladies, under 17 and under 19 LWSSL groups, Youths, boys teams from under 12 to under 16 and girls teams from under 12 to under 16.
Schoolboy and schoolgirl football
The club has long placed schoolboy and schoolgirl football at the centre of its growth. Its girls section began in 2003/04 and grew to around 70 girls from under 8 to under 18.
Regional United girls have also been part of Limerick squads at the Gaynor Cup in under 14 and under 16 age groups, giving young players a visible route into wider representative football.
Junior football and honours
The Junior A team became one of the leading sides in Limerick city football, while the wider junior setup has included two adult teams and a collection of league and cup trophies.
Regional United teams have reached an under 16 National Cup final, produced players with junior international recognition, made FAI and Munster cup semi final runs and added a Munster Youth Cup success to the club list.
Current match calendar
The current match calendar shows Regional United active across Junior A Premier Division, Junior B Premier A, Munster junior cup football, LWSSL ladies football and under 17 league football.
Recent Dooradoyle games have included Junior B football against Carew FC and Caherdavin Celtic, a Junior A home match against Mungret Regional and under 17 football against Bunratty Cratloe. Away fixtures have taken the club to Crossagalla, Janesboro, Annacotty, Murroe and Kilmallock.
