Youth pathway
Rock Celtic provides football for more than 300 players, starting with coaching and fun games for children aged six to nine.
The school age pathway runs from under 10 to under 18 in the Dundalk Schoolboys League. That gives children a steady route from first sessions into regular team football.
Senior teams
The club also has two senior teams in the Meath and District League. That senior route gives older youth players a local target after under 18 football.

Founding story
Rock Celtic was founded in the seaside village of Blackrock in 1969. Gerry Teather helped bring organised junior and schoolboy soccer back to the village after moving there with his wife Margaret Cooney.
The club played its first game against Greenfield on 4 May 1969 in the second division of the summer competition. That first season ended with joint runners up status and promotion after an 8 to 6 play off win.
Juvenile section from 1971
A decisive youth step came in 1971 when Brian Ward, Peter Boyle and John McArdle started an under 15 team in the Dundalk Schoolboys League.
The schoolboy section then grew into a strong player pathway. Many talented players moved on to League of Ireland football and to opportunities in England, while the youth stream kept the senior club strong.
Junior honours
Rock Celtic became Dundalk Junior League champions in 1973. The McConville Cup win in 1979 started a strong six year spell, with three league titles and two cup wins.
The club also won the Dundalk, Monaghan and Cavan League and later the second division of the Leinster League. Those honours form a major part of the club’s adult football standing.
Meath league era
Rock Celtic entered the Meath District League in 1996 to 1997. The move opened a new senior football chapter for the club beyond the local Dundalk scene.
The club celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2009 by winning the premier title for the first time in that competition, adding another landmark to the Sandy Lane story.
