Rosslare Rangers at Martley Park
Rosslare Rangers is a Wexford harbour club with 1969 roots, a Martley Park home and football from young academy ages to adult teams.
Rosslare Rangers identity
Rosslare Rangers AFC is an amateur football club based in Rosslare Harbour, County Wexford. The club was formed in 1969 and now plays from Martley Park.
The current club colours are navy and yellow. The club has adult men, women, youth, schoolboy and schoolgirl football, giving families a clear football route in the Rosslare Harbour area.
How the club began
Rosslare Rangers began after Sean Martley called a meeting in the Railway Social Club on 28 August 1969 to see whether a football club could be formed in the Rosslare area.
A first committee of Sean Martley, P Lawlor, B Crosbie, M Costigan and P Breen was appointed, and a follow up meeting on 19 September 1969 confirmed the Rosslare Rangers AFC name.
The first Wexford League match came against Wexford Spurs on 14 December 1969. That early starting point still shapes the club identity at Martley Park.
Martley Park in Rosslare Harbour
Martley Park is the club’s purpose built home in Rosslare Harbour. The development was completed in 2002 and has become the centre of football activity for Rosslare Rangers.
The complex includes four dressing rooms, parking for more than 100 cars, three shower rooms, a gym, two full sand based pitches, a basketball court, a tennis court, a throwing area and floodlit five a side astro facilities.

Adult teams
The current adult men’s route includes an A team in Wexford Football League Division 2 and a B team in Division 4A.
The senior group trains on Tuesday and Friday evenings, while the B team gives more players a competitive route in club football. That structure helps Rosslare keep adult football open to more than one squad.
Women and girls football
Rosslare Rangers Ladies were formed in 1983 by Elizabeth Doyle. Their best early season came in 1984, when the team won the Gaynor Cup.
The ladies team later restarted in 2001 with help from Paddy Doyle and Emmet Byrne. Today the club lists a ladies team in Wexford Women’s League Division 2B and girls groups from under 9 to under 16.
Youth, schoolboys and schoolgirls
The club’s youth team competes in the Wexford Youths League Division 1 and trains twice a week. Beneath that, the school age route covers boys from under 6 to under 16 and girls from under 9 to under 16.
That spread gives younger players a staged route from early football into youth and adult squads without leaving the Rosslare Harbour club environment.
Wexford Cup story
Rosslare Rangers have a long connection with the Wexford Cup. The club won the competition in 1987–88, 1988–89, 1990–91, 1994–95 and 2004–05, and reached another final in 2018–19.
The 1989 Wexford Cup win over Stoney Rovers is part of the club’s best known era, and the official club material still uses imagery from that cup presentation.
Recent honours
Rosslare’s honour roll includes new milestones as well as older cup success. The A team won Division 2 in 2025–26, while the B team won Division 4A in 2024–25.
The youth section also won the Youth League in 2025–26, adding a current underage marker to the club’s adult and cup achievements.
School age honours
Rosslare Rangers have built a wide schoolboy and schoolgirl honours list. Boys honours include under 10, under 11, under 12, under 13, under 14, under 15 and under 16 league or cup success across different divisions.
The schoolgirls honours include under 10 girls cup success in 2014–15, under 14 schoolgirls Division 4 in 2021–22 and Division 2B in 2024–25, plus under 13 schoolgirls Division 2A in 2024–25.
Facilities and community use
Martley Park is more than a match ground. The gym, astro, multiple pitches and court spaces give the club room for training, camps, small sided football and wider community use.
The 40th anniversary weekend in 2009 included schoolboy and schoolgirl games, an official opening and matches involving past and present players, showing how the complex supports the club community across generations.
