Club story

A Donaghmede club with a full football pathway

Trinity Donaghmede FC says it was formed in 1976, during the early growth of Donaghmede. The club’s history links its beginning to the new housing built by Dublin City Council and records a major change in May 2009, when the redeveloped Father Collins Park opened and became the club’s home.

The club describes a broad football family rather than a single youth side. Its official account starts with an academy for children from age four, continues through U7 to U18 schoolboy and schoolgirl teams, and includes senior and over 35s football. The current club home page carries membership, news and match notices for families following that pathway.

Irish Youth Football currently connects eleven 2026–27 team records to the club. The recorded ages run from U7 to U17: U7, U9, three U12 records, U13, three U15 records, U16 and U17. Nine are marked as boys’ teams and two have no pathway label. There is no linked girls’ record, academy card, U18 card, senior card or over 35s card, so this page must not be read as a complete list of Trinity Donaghmede teams.

The live IYF panel has no upcoming fixture at present. It does contain five recent youth results: away wins over Phoenix, Raheny United and Rush Athletic, a draw at Tyrrelstown United and a draw at St Kevin’s. The dates, scores, team links and match venues remain in the results view below. The club’s own results page carries a wider archive, although its most visible entries are older senior matches.

Trinity Donaghmede publishes a named honours record. The official roll of honour lists the U11 Lee Kavanagh Cup in 2022, an U15 NDSL league title in 2021–22, the U18 League Cup in 2022–23, the U12 Lee McEvoy Cup in 2023–24 and the U15 Aer Lingus Cup in 2023–24. The same list records over 35s, senior league and senior Polikoff Cup successes; those adult honours are part of club history but are not presented as youth trophies.

The published roll contains an obvious “2021/222” typo for the U15 league season. This profile renders it as 2021–22 while leaving the linked club page available for readers to inspect. It does not add cup runs or isolated match wins to the honours list. That keeps the football record tied to the club’s own named competitions and seasons.

The home colours are black and red. The DDSL club profile supplies the badge and colour record, while the league club map connects the team to FR Collins Park and D13 H593. No separately verified away strip was found, so an away colour is not claimed here.

Father Collins Park is more than a pin on a map. The club says the 2009 home came with an all weather pitch, fourteen dressing rooms and four grass pitches. Dublin City Council’s park page independently confirms soccer pitches, changing facilities and wheelchair access, together with a playground and skatepark in the wider public space.

The council records Father Collins Park as Ireland’s first wholly sustainable park when it opened in 2009. The current north central pitch allocations name Trinity Donaghmede at the park. These records support the ground relationship without pretending that every team uses the same pitch or entrance each week.

Visitors should use Hole in the Wall Road, Donaghmede, Dublin 13 and the D13 H593 club reference. The park has several gates and Dublin City Council warns that gates may begin closing before the published closing time. Match messages should take priority for kick off, pitch number, dressing room access and the meeting point.

Trinity Sports and Leisure’s contact page gives 13 The Hole in the Wall Road as a nearby practical address. Its pool, sports hall and lounges belong to that leisure operation; they should not be assumed to be available to football visitors. Public sources checked for this profile do not clearly confirm refreshments or spectator toilets at every youth fixture, so families should ask the team contact when those details are important.

The map below targets Father Collins Park rather than the leisure centre building. Drivers, walkers and public transport users should still follow the weekly club message for the right gate and pitch inside the large park.

Membership and official updates

The club is taking 2026 to 2027 membership through its official site. Families can check registration, team notices and club news before attending. The public club record does not confirm a fixed trial system or spaces in every squad.
