How the club was formed
Watergrasshill United was founded in 2004 when Hill Albion and Hill Celtic joined to create one football club for Watergrasshill. The club’s own history and official social profile record that merger. The combined club built a pathway covering academy, schoolboy, girls, youth and adult football.
The club is run as a volunteer organisation. Its 2013 constitution describes a non denominational, non sectarian and non political club formed to foster association football at every level. It sets out a child centred environment built around coaching, equipment, facilities, teamwork, sportsmanship and enjoyment.
Teams and player pathway
The official website archive lists girls academy groups and girls teams at under 12, under 14 and under 16. Its boys menu runs from under 7 through under 18, followed by an AUL adult entry. Registration notices have invited boys, girls, youths and adults, while annual camps and community open days provide extra activity outside the league season.
Irish Youth Football currently connects Watergrasshill United records across the Cork Schoolboys League, including boys teams from under 10 through under 16 and added A sides at several ages. The live cards below are the records presently held in the match system. They do not amount to a full club registration list and do not represent every girls, youth or adult side described by the club.
The 2026 Cork Youth Leagues listings also include Watergrasshill at under 17 and under 18. The adult junior side competes through the Cork AUL. Families should check the official club channels for the current coach, training group and available place before registering.
Recorded honours
The club’s published honours page records early progress in the Cork Schoolboys League. The under 12 side won Division 6 in 2008/09 after a playoff with Corkbeg. The under 11s finished runners up in Division 6 that season without losing, with eleven wins and three draws.
In 2009/10 the under 12 team earned promotion from Division 5 and the under 13 team finished runners up in the same tier. The 2010/11 season brought an under 11 Division 4 title, under 13 and under 14 Division 4 runner up finishes, and promotion for the under 15 side from Division 5. The under 15 team became Division 3 champions in 2011/12.
The honours page names Adam Murphy, PJ Dennehy, Dylan McCarthy, Adam O’Sullivan and Sean Desmond among Watergrasshill players selected for Cork development panels. The page is an older club record and is not a complete roll of later league and cup achievements. Newer trophies should be added only when a stable club or league record gives the team, competition and season.
Skehanagh Park
Skehanagh Park is Watergrasshill United’s home ground. The official directions page publishes the coordinates 52.031311, -8.324925. From Watergrasshill village, the ground is reached on the old Rathcormac road after passing the GAA pitch. The listed Eircode is T56 DN36.
The same club page names Hillington FC’s pitch as a Saturday alternative, but it does not confirm that this arrangement remains current for every season. Teams can be assigned to other grounds through league fixtures, so the live match venue and coach message take priority over a general club address.
Stable club pages do not give a full inventory of pitches, changing rooms, toilets, refreshments, parking capacity, seating or step free access at Skehanagh Park. Visitors who need a specific facility should contact the team before travelling.
Colours and badge
The Cork league club information records red jerseys, white shorts and red socks. The badge displayed here comes from the official Watergrasshill United website. Kit designs and sponsors can change between teams and seasons, so the colour record describes the published club strip rather than every match kit.
Coaching, safeguarding and club standards
Watergrasshill United’s constitution and codes place child welfare first. They call for Garda vetting, a Club Children’s Officer, first aid provision, safe equipment, attendance records and clear start and finish times for training and matches. Coaches and volunteers are expected to follow FAI codes and receive club support, with a buddy arrangement described for newcomers to coaching.
The club has also hosted an FAI coach and parent workshop and uses FAI certified, Garda vetted coaches for summer camp activity. Parents should use current club contacts for child welfare questions because named officers can change.

Record notes
No suitable official club video was found for viewing inside this page. A complete current honours roll, full team register, detailed ground facilities and fixed visitor access arrangements were not confirmed in stable club sources. These gaps are stated so older website menus and social posts are not presented as a complete 2026/27 record.
