A Woodview club rooted in Dundalk

The club’s official Facebook page describes Woodview Celtic as an amateur football club based in Dundalk, County Louth. The SFAI club map also lists Woodview Celtic FC among affiliated underage clubs.

The badge uses a sky blue shield, three green trees and a scroll carrying the Woodview Celtic name. The initials LEE appear above the trees. A public club source explaining the initials or the origin of the crest has not been found, so no meaning has been assigned to them here.

A reliable founding year has not been published in the sources reviewed. The club was competing in the North East league by the 2005/06 season, but that competition record does not prove the year in which Woodview Celtic was formed.

Football history

From the lower divisions to Premier champions

The North East Football League roll of honour traces a rapid rise through the adult game. Woodview won Division 3 in 2005/06, Division 2 in 2006/07 and Division 1 in 2007/08. The club then finished as Premier runner up in 2008/09 before winning the Premier title in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2013/14.

Woodview also reached the 2006 Leinster Junior Shield final, where Ardee Celtic won 2–0. In 2017, Dundalk FC’s tribute to Tommy McConville recorded that the former Ireland international and Dundalk appearance holder had helped Woodview Celtic during his later coaching years.

The senior record is historic. Woodview does not appear in the published 2026 North East adult tables reviewed for this profile, so this page does not claim that a current adult team is active.

Recent club recruitment has invited children born from 2018 to 2020, and Woodview’s under 10 team won the Clancy Cup in 2026. Earlier public posts also record under 8, under 9 and under 13 activity. The league archive records the annual Lee Myles Lucchesi Tournament for young age groups.

Recent photographs show Woodview squads in blue based clubwear, but the reviewed sources do not provide a formal home kit description or a stable away kit record. The colour field records sky blue, green and white as club identity colours rather than presenting a fixed kit combination.

Confirm the assigned Dundalk venue

The club’s Clubforce record gives 62 Marlmount Walk, Marlbog Road, Dundalk, A91 T3HA as its contact address. That address has not been verified as a playing ground.

Woodview teams have used Dundalk Sports Centre and local competition venues, while cup finals can be assigned to grounds such as Bellew Park. No single current home pitch could be confirmed from an official club source. The venue relation will remain empty until a regular home ground is supported by club or fixture evidence.
