DPD Park
DPD Park is Willow Park FC’s club ground at Kilmacuagh Avenue, off Dublin Road in Athlone. The ground is also known locally as Willow Park and the Kilmacuagh grounds.
How the ground developed
The official club history records that Willow Park Sports and Social Club was formed in 1984 to buy ten acres beside the housing estate. A junior side entered the Midlands League in 1985 and the site became the base for the club’s senior and youth football.
New dressing rooms opened in 1997 and were improved in 2005. An astro training area was added in 2007, floodlights followed on the main senior pitch in 2010, and a new clubhouse opened in 2020.
