From friendly football to a lasting youth pathway
Birr’s historical account traces the move from an initial run of friendlies to organised league football. Its early unbeaten title campaign established a competitive footing, followed by an invitation into the Leinster Junior League’s Premier Division. In 1983, Birr became a founder member of the Offaly Schoolboys League, adding a youth route to its adult football.
